Is it Recommended to buy a car with Hail Damage?

Hail Damage can be very costly to repair. If you are buying the car with Damage from a Private Party, I would recommend seeing their Insurance Estimate or Getting your Own Estimate before buying. Sometimes these vehicles can have a Salvage Title from Hail Damage, so make sure you ask if the Title is Clean. If it has a Salvage Title, prices should be about 30-40% less than full price.

Is it Recommended to buy a New car with Hail Damage from a Dealer?

Dealerships will get Estimates from their Insurance Company to repair all of their Inventory. Usually the estimates will be less than Full Retail Cost because of quantity discounts. Dealers should be able to Repair the Vehicle you are interested in or give you a Discount off the Price. Their Discount usually reflects what they can get the Cars Repaired for by their vendors or Internal Body Shops. If you decide to buy the vehicle with Hail Damage, more than likely the cost will be what the discount you received was or more.

How do I get my insurance company involved?

After a Hail Storm, it is best to get in touch with your Insurance Company. They will usually require an initial estimate by an Adjuster before you can get scheduled in for any repairs. We work with all insurance companies and will work directly with them on your behalf.
